Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior leadership:
    • Investment Thesis Refinement & Landscape Mapping: The Analyst will assist senior leadership in refining the PropTech investment thesis. This will include landscape mapping and literature reviews, as well as interviews with key experts in our network and our portfolio companies.
    • Assist with quarterly portfolio valuations and investor reporting
    • Manage, vet and track portfolio company reporting and analyse portfolio companies' financial performance
    • Provide strategic/on-demand work for data-driven projects
    • Build financial and analytical models to support investment team activity
    • Assist in managing our weekly investment review process through collaboration with portfolio companies and partners to deliver critical financial analysis for the firm
  • Perform market research to help identify new investment trends and opportunities:
    • Deal screening: call and/or meet with prospects, evaluate opportunities
    • Documentation: summarise call notes, enter deals into DBs
    • Network with peers in other Venture Capital Firms
    • Perform monthly deep-dive on selected ProTech verticals (ConTech, Smart City, Co-living, PropFintech, etc)
  • Perform Due Diligence :
    • Work on every part of internal investment memos
    • Gather information from the target start-up and industry experts
    • Research and talk to existing references and customers of the target start-up
    • Research potential competitors to the target company
    • Research and talk with technical/business consultants to evaluate the target company’s technology including IPs
    • Conduct background checks on the current management of the target company
    • Perform valuation analysis via modelling

 

Your profile:

  • 1-4 years of investment experience (VC, PE, investment banking, Data Tech)
  • Outstanding analytical and strategic-thinking skills, combined with excellent business judgment
  • Experience with portfolio management databases a benefit
  • Ample horsepower and adaptability with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Strong knowledge of Excel including advanced function
  • Experience with cash flow modelling and investment valuation techniques
  • Ability to produce well designed professional looking Powerpoint presentations
  • Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills 
  • Experience with portfolio management databases appreciated
  • Investment experience (even at a personal level) appreciated
  • Unquestionable integrity and strong work ethic

We are looking for you to start in January, it is a full-time contract with full benefits.
